7/10/1965Amir Timur of Timur Lang invaded India with 92 squadrons of horses and 90,000 cavalry and reached the banks of Sindhu river near Atak city (now in Pakistan). He then attacked Delhi because its Muslim Sultanate was too tolerant of Hindu idolatry. A Mongolian follower of Sufism, he was one of the most ruthless of all conquerors. Timur crossed the Indus River at Attock (now in Pakistan) on 24 September 1398.

11/8/1919Madan Theatres Ltd. was founded under a Joint Stock Company at Calcutta. Their maiden venture 'Bilwamangal' was released on November 8, 1919 at the Cornwallis Theatre, Calcutta.
6/9/1964Lal Bahadur Shastri became the second Prime Minister of India when the country was shocked of Jawaharlal Nehru's death and Indo-China war. Shastri gave the quotation ""Jai Jawan Jai Kisan"" which motivated the war-affected Indians to boost their morale. He remained in this office till he died on January 11, 1966 at Taskent. In his cabinet, Indira Gandhi served as Minister of Information and Broadcasting.
