Srinagar, July 5 (IANS) Peoples Justice Front Chairman Aga Syed Abbas Rizvi on Sunday stressed the return to Sufism, humanism and pluralism as the only way to achieve permanent peace in Jammu and Kashmir.

Addressing a meeting in the Sumbal area of the Bandipora district, Rizvi said Sufism had formed the edifice of peace and unity among Muslims, Hindus and Sikhs in J&K.

"In the last few decades, Sufism was targeted by miscreants to create disunity among communities. The objective of our party is to spread the message of Sufism to usher in peace and unity among followers of various religions in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh," he said.

Rizvi also laid emphasis on education to help local youth keep pace with others in different parts of the country.

The chairman of local municipal committee, councillors and sarpanches in the area attended the meeting and announced their decision to join the justice front, Rizvi said.
